König's NFT Wheels Will be Available in the Torque Drift Series

Animoca Brands and their subsidiary Grease Monkey Games, which created the successful Torque Motorsports game series, has partnered with world-renowned bike manufacturer König. The two companies will launch innovative, interoperable NFT wheels for Torque Drift 2 and other games in the Torque Motorsport series. The release of these unique NFTs is scheduled for the second half of 2023.

Through blockchain technology, Torque Drift 2 offers a realistic drifting experience, enabling true digital ownership. It is the official blockchain game of Formula DRIFT, which will launch its features and content in 2023 and 2024 for PC, and then for consoles making it an integral part of the REVV Motorsport Metaverse ecosystem.

The game aims to provide players with a realistic racing experience on Web 2.0 and Web 3.0 platforms. Pre-access to Torque Drift 2 will be available for premium NFT keyholders in the first half of 2023, so owners of these keyholders can try out the game before the public release of the open beta.

König has more than 40 years of experience in wheel manufacturing and has made history as a global automotive tuning icon that actively supports car enthusiasts. König excels primarily in the production of cast and forged wheels. Their team comprises automotive enthusiasts who pride themselves on accurate data and feedback from the race teams they sponsor. The company's first collection of NFT wheels will feature eight of its most desirable variants, including Hypergram, Dekagram, and Ampliform. The collection aims to appeal to both current racing fans and NFT collectors.

In addition to Torque Drift 2, these NFT wheels will also be compatible with Torque Burnout and Torque Drift, Grease Monkey Games' previous mobile games released under the Torque Motorsport brand. Blockchain games excel in interoperability, allowing players to own their assets and providing greater flexibility in their use.

President of König America, Scott Weiss, said, "We are proud to be at the forefront of automotive games pushing into the NFT world. Our collaboration with Grease Monkey Games and Animoca Brands allows automotive enthusiasts to interact with and use the König brand and wheels in a digital environment that provides players with true digital ownership and asset interoperability. We are excited to add these features to the digital versions of our bikes, which are already some of the most robust, lightweight, and advanced on the market."

Torque Burnout and Torque Drift plan to introduce a weekly challenge system this year, which will be based on the Polygon blockchain. In addition to the ability to own NFT König wheels in-game, this system will reward players for actually playing the game.

Founder and CEO of Grease Monkey Games, Arran Potter, also expressed his pride in working with König to launch and showcase some of the best racing wheels in the world using NFT in Torque Drift 2. And further, they believe that this NFT will allow players a novel way to engage with games, plus the interoperability between different games will allow them to use their NFT in many ways.
