Five Metaverse Tools You Should Know About

Even if we have similar ideas about what the core values of the future metaverse might be, such as decentralization or defending against censorship, it is possible that we have different theories about how to realize these values. We may also differ in the way we reflect our identities in the digital world. Flexible metaverse tools can support us on this journey.

These tools will enable Web 3.0 users to lay the foundation for building a metaverse.

Tool 1 Genies: create an avatar

The Genies ecosystem provides a Cut N' Mix avatar creation tool that allows users to create and modify fashion additions to their avatars. It also allows designers to display their creations with the option to sell them on the marketplace. Designers can create entire fashion lines, with many varieties to choose from.

Genies has agreements with Universal Music Group and Warner Music group, and owns 99% of all celebrity avatars on the market today. Among the first digital avatars created were celebrities such as Justin Bieber, Cardi B and J Balvin. The company has subsequently provided representation to individual creators based on its avatar creation tools.

Last April, Genies raised 150 million USD in a Series C round led by Silver Lake. Founded by Akash Nigam, the Los Angeles-based company has more than 150 employees.

Tool 2 Light: exploring the metaverse

Built on the decentralized identity protocol CyberConnect, Light offers its users a tool for easily exploring interactions in the metaverse. Users can build a metaverse timeline that shows them NFTs, POAPs, and the latest DAO and DeFi app activity.

The Light tool also works as a graph of social interactions, allowing users to follow others while being tracked on the blockchain, as well as displaying NFTs and Web 3.0 credentials on their own profile pages. For network security, users receive LIGHT management tokens.

Tool 3 Webaverse: creating a metaverse

An open metaverse allows for interoperable, shared experiences and are owned and controlled by the creators instead of central entities. There are tools such as Webaverse that aim to connect virtual worlds so that in the future, the internet will become a network of interconnected open metaverses.

The Webaverse engine offers a set of open standards for developers to build their own virtual experiences. Based on the Webaverse infrastructure, the team has created their own MMO metaverse game called Upstreet. The company also works with other developers to create exclusive NFT 3D avatars and build custom worlds for partners. As a result, the owners of these partner NFTs use their own assets in tangible metaverse experiences.

Tool 4 VRSpace: creating virtual reality

VRSpace is a tool that can be used in any browser with WebXR support to create AR and VR experiences.

The creators of VRSpace offer a list of avatars that can be selected, or you can create a custom avatar. Any authoring tool that exports glTF, such as Blender, Unity or Unreal, can be used to create a virtual world. All worlds that are created using VRSpace are multi-user, but there is an option to limit the maximum number of users that can be set in the configuration file.

Tool 5 Mojito: white label solution for Web 3.0

The Mojito tool focuses on service and software development for enterprise use. Based on the "Merchant of Record" service, it is possible to control fiat and cryptocurrency payments, manage taxes, monitor compliance and manage customer support.

With this tool, companies can run NFT drops, marketplaces and art galleries on their own platforms. One example is art gallery Pace, which has built its own NFT gallery, Pace Verso, using the Mojito tool. Mojito is also behind the metaverse platform of the globally renowned auction house Sotheby's, which it has been supporting since 2021.

The team has worked with and developed solutions for many other well-known brands, including Lyrical Lemonade which, thanks to Mojito, was able to offer a membership token within the Carton collection. Another example is the Milwaukee Bucks, who chose Mojito as their strategic partner to hand out NFT access cards to their fans in the Deer District.
