Gaming Giants Square Enix and Elixir Games Have Entered Into a Partnership

The Japanese game development company Square Enix has partnered with Elixir Games to create a game launcher. The collaboration is aimed at bringing Web 2.0 gamers into the Web 3.0 gaming space.

Square Enix is actively investing heavily in technology that they believe will be the future of the gaming industry. Over the past month, the company has made a major leap forward in the world of NFTs, first announcing the upcoming NFT game, Symbiogenesis and shortly after, releasing the NFT card collection, Final Fantasy 7. Now, the company must figure out how to entice traditional gamers to adopt their Web 3.0 game-related products.

One way to do this is through a new partnership with Elixir Games. The company offers a game launcher that, among other things, has recently integrated the Epic Games store, which includes both Web 2.0 games and Web 3.0 games. Based on this collaboration, millions of gamers around the world will get the opportunity to try out quality blockchain games using a user-friendly platform, which will ultimately lead to easy, seamless gaming.

Director of Business Development at Square Enix, Hideaki Uehara, said:

“This partnership with Elixir Games represents yet another step for Square Enix to explore the promise of Web 3.0 - decentralized gaming.”

The collaboration aims to drive the mass adoption of Web 3.0 games

Elixir Games will be tasked with marketing Web 3.0 games to traditional gamers and fans of other Square Enix projects. However, both companies have admitted that this is a big challenge, as the distribution of Web 3.0 games is not as widespread among traditional gamers.

Despite this, both companies believe they will achieve mass adoption. CEO of Elixir Games, Carlos Roldan, said:

“This partnership brings us closer to Web 3.0 gaming mass adoption. Our team is incredibly excited to bring our technology to work, and we foresee Elixir users playing Web 2.0 and Web 3.0 games alike without distinction. 2023 has already seen more industry leaders enter the space with impactful projects, and we anticipate to see more as the year progresses. We’ve put all efforts to ensure we are ready for scalability.”

With this partnership, Square Enix has solidified its position as a leader in the creation and deployment of Web 3.0 games.
