The Blockchain Gaming Investment Amounts are Skyrocketing

A new DappRadar report claims that the blockchain gaming investment amounts are skyrocketing, although the overall crypto market is experiencing a grim season.

Big players in the crypto space are plunging investments into other areas of the blockchain space, gaming being the biggest one amongst them.

The report shows that gaming projects have gathered $748 million worth of investments since August 2022.

Mobile game pioneer Gabriel Leydon managed to raise $200 million in August, for the UK games industry mentorship program called Limit Break.

On the other hand, a Singapore-based global investment company named Temasek invested $100 million into Animoca Brands, a famously based Hong Kong venture capital in the blockchain gaming industry, which publishes Web3 games.

DappRadar’s projections suggest that the annual investment amount in blockchain gaming will reach $10.2 billion at the end of the year, which is a huge increment compared to last year's $4 billion.

According to the analytics firm’s report, investments going to NFT and metaverse gaming projects are roughly one third of the total investments in the GameFi industry, and the rest mostly goes into infrastructure and investment firms.

DappRadar states that the GameFi industry managed to maintain its acceleration regardless of the overall market situation in the past few months and that the big players remain interested in the blockchain gaming industry with no hesitation.

Although the numbers are increasing and the GameFi industry is blooming, according to the analytics firm, the gaming industry is still in the beginning stage compared to the potential it holds for the future. The industry is in continuous improvement and progress, which promises to be the lead sector within the Web3 space in the near future.
